Clallam County Fire District #3 - Entry Level Firefighter/Paramedic

To be considered for the first review, all required documents and a successfully passed written exam must be completed by July 31, 2026. Subsequent reviews occur monthly.
Requirements
- Written examination: required.
- Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT): required; must be completed within 12 months of passing the written exam.
- PST Personal History Statement: must be submitted within 7 days of passing required exams.
- Minimum age: 18.
- Citizenship: U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S. (agency does not sponsor immigration benefits).
- High school graduate or GED.
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License.
- Felony convictions reviewed case‑by‑case.
- English reading, speaking, writing proficiency.
- Vision: meet LEOFF II standards.
- Veteran’s preference: yes.
- Paramedic certification: required.
- Prior firefighting experience: desired.
- Prior EMT experience: desired.
- Medical exam, psychological evaluation, drug screen, and background investigation: compulsory.
Disqualifiers
- Driving: failing a qualified driving abstract (disqualifies) or points that may be considered.
- Drug use: criminal offense involving unlawful use, sale, manufacture, or possession of controlled substances or prescription drugs.
- Criminal activity: felony conviction in this state or an offense that would be a felony in this state.
- Employment history: false or misleading information or cheating on tests.
- Violence: documented history of physical violence or conviction of a crime of domestic violence.
