Job summary

Fox-Valley-Fire- in Elgin, IL is seeking an entry-level Technician I – Fire Alarm Install to assist with installing fire alarm systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. You will learn proper installation techniques, code compliance, and safety procedures while delivering high-quality workmanship.

This role supports senior technicians, participates in on-the-job training, reads drawings, and helps with cable pulling, device terminations, and basic conduit work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.
• NICET certifications in Fire Alarm Systems strongly desired.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation of fire alarm products, devices, panels, and related equipment under the guidance of senior technicians.
• Pull and terminate cabling, trim out devices, and perform minor conduit work.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment on-site.
• Follow all company safety procedures and adhere to industry safety standards.
• Exhibit professional communication and customer service skills when interacting with clients.
• Learn to read and interpret installation drawings, diagrams, and work orders.
• Support the team in troubleshooting and minor system adjustments as directed.
• Participate in on-the-job training to develop technical skills and system knowledge.
