Job summary

Chicago Metropolitan Fire Prevention is seeking an Alarm Technician II to perform installation, service, and corrective repairs on fire alarm systems. The role requires independent field work, adherence to NFPA codes, and internal standards while progressively taking on leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities include wiring, device installation, deficiency repairs, system testing, and client communication.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 3 years of Alarm Installation, Inspection, Testing and Service experience.
Working knowledge of Alarm Systems, devices, and basic circuitry.

Responsibilities

Install wiring, bend conduit, install devices for Alarm Systems.
Identify deficiencies and complete corrective repairs, including device replacement and system troubleshooting.
Execute follow-up service work from inspections to resolve deficiencies and ensure compliance.
Troubleshoot common fire alarm system issues and verify functionality after repairs.
Complete inspection reports, service documentation, and deficiency records in company systems.
Communicate findings and required repairs clearly with supervisors, project managers, and customers.
Maintain tools, test equipment, and job sites safely and professionally.
