Job summary

Bowman Consulting Group, Ltd. in Rockville, MD seeks an entry-level Survey Instrument Operator I (Rodman) to join our team. The role involves operating survey instruments, performing surveys, and supporting a survey crew in boundary, topography, ALTA, right-of-way, and construction projects.

Under supervision, you will set up and operate equipment such as total-station and GPS, perform calculations, and ensure equipment maintenance and calibration. Travel and overtime are required.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred; commensurate related experience considered.
College or technical courses in math and surveying.
Entry level position; no prior experience required; survey experience a plus.
Familiar with boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys.
Travel and overtime required.
Valid US driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

Set-up and operate survey equipment including total-station, data collector, level and GPS.
Perform survey calculations and stakeout and locations surveys.
Maintain equipment and keep survey truck stocked with supplies.
Conduct calibration checks and adjustments on equipment.
