Job summary

Stantec in Plano, Texas, is seeking a driven Field Survey Assistant to join our transportation-focused surveying team. You will perform surveying, mapping and data collection activities under the guidance of a Senior Surveyor, supporting boundary definitions and land development projects.

The role offers hands-on fieldwork, opportunities to learn survey instruments and data transfer to project files, with strong emphasis on safety, accuracy, and teamwork in a dynamic, project-driven environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; technical credential is a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities in field environments.
• Basic surveying concepts with attention to accuracy and safety.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varied conditions.
• 0–2 years of land surveying experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform surveying and data collection tasks under supervision.
• Assist in transferring survey data to project files and the network.
• Operate survey instruments and maintain equipment in good condition.
• Support staking, layout, and boundary determination activities.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and project procedures in all field tasks.
