Job summary

Stantec is seeking an experienced Field Survey Technician for our Austin, TX office. You will perform surveying, mapping, and data collection under supervision on small projects and as part of larger teams led by a Senior Surveyor.

Responsibilities include loading equipment, safely operating field tools, verifying data accuracy, and preparing maps daily. Travel for short periods may be required; strong math skills and knowledge of GPS/robotic total stations are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with field survey methods and calculations.
• Familiarity with local survey laws and regulations.
• Understanding of GPS and robotic total station technology.
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
• Strong math skills including algebra and trigonometry.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Load vehicles with tools and equipment and ensure proper loading.
• May drive company vehicle to reach jobsites.
• Operate and maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment safely.
• Verify field survey data accuracy and prepare maps/sketches daily.
• Perform other duties of similar nature as assigned.
