Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking an entry-level Field Service Mechanic C to support our fleet at customer job sites in California. You will perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment, working independently at times and coordinating with customers on-site.

Qualifications

• Entry-level technician with basic mechanical knowledge.
• Ability to read schematics and manuals.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Follow a consistent schedule of preventative maintenance on Herc fleet at customer job sites.
• Perform oil changes, lubrication, tire replacements, hose repairs, battery replacements and related services.
• Diagnose heavy equipment to ensure proper operating condition at job sites.
• Troubleshoot fuel, electrical, hydraulic and propane systems.
• Assist in replacing parts to return equipment to proper working order.
• Stay updated with Herc online courses and convey guidelines to customers.
• Produce timely service reports and repair logs.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized job site.
• Build positive relationships with customers.
