Job summary

Prodigy Partners in Ashburn, VA is seeking an entry‑level Fiber Optic Technician to begin a career in the fast‑growing data center field. No prior experience is required; training including FOA CFOT certification will be provided to help you learn to pull, patch, and test fibers under guidance.

You will assist with pulling and patching fiber cables, perform basic tests with OTDR equipment, install connectors, and support safety standards during peak builds.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years experience or zero/current grads welcome to learn on the job.
• FOA CFOT certification is a plus.
• Basic interest in wiring or networking, or related military MOS.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transport for Ashburn-area sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist in pulling and patching fiber optic cables under supervision.
• Support basic testing with OTDR and ensure quality checks.
• Help install connectors and cabling infrastructure following safety standards.
• Work with team leads to stay on schedule during builds.
• Participate in equipment checks and maintain safety gear ready.
