Job summary

Westinghouse in Newington, NH is seeking an experienced Fabrication Mechanic to join our 100% onsite team. You will fit and weld components to blueprints, set up automated welding, and finish large fabrications to exact specifications, while preparing goods for shipment.

You will read drawings, manage weld symbols and procedures, and work with MIG, TIG, and robotic welders to achieve high-quality results. Westinghouse values precision and safety in a heavy fabrication environment.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years in fabrication, or 1+ year as a Westinghouse Newington Fabrication Mechanic II.
• Fluency with engineering drawings, weld symbols, welding procedures.
• Blueprint reading and dimensional control proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Fit and weld metal components to blueprint and engineering requirements.
• Execute internal seam welding inside large fabrications and components.
• Grind welds to spec and surface-prep interior of large forgings for stainless-steel overlay.
• Set up and oversee automated welding on interior and exterior seams.
• Deburr edges and machined features with small powered hand tools.
• Lay out cylinders, plate, and cones to exact lengths and angles per drawings.
• Operate overhead lifting equipment per contract guidelines.
• Perform testing operations per engineering specifications.
• Prepare finished goods for shipment: wrap/pad, label crates, and complete pack-and-ship orders.
