Job summary

AIS Infrastructure Group is seeking a Junior Estimator to support accurate cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects across the United States. You will assist with quantity takeoffs, subcontractor pricing, and bid preparation while developing preconstruction skills.

The role is office-based, offering learning opportunities in HCSS, Trimble, and Bluebeam, with potential travel to project sites during bids and pre-bid meetings.

Qualifications

• Understanding of construction methods and terminology.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to learn estimating practices and software.

Responsibilities

• Assist in full estimating process from start to submission.
• Prepare cost estimates for heavy civil projects.
• Perform quantity takeoffs under guidance of senior estimators.
• Solicit pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Research material pricing, labor rates and equipment costs.
• Maintain estimating databases and bid documentation.
• Review drawings and contracts to understand scope.
• Enter pricing into estimating software; prepare bid documents.
