Job summary

McGough Construction is seeking an Estimator I to read project specs, perform quantity takeoffs, and prepare accurate project estimates for self-performed and subcontracted work. You will coordinate bid cards, solicit subcontractor bids, and contribute to project scheduling.

The role emphasizes a detail-oriented, analytical approach, with experience in On-Screen takeoff and Excel, and strong communication for team collaboration. Travel is periodic as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Engineering or Construction Management.
• 2–5 years of construction and estimating experience.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, organization and time management skills.
• Thorough and detail-oriented.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task within time constraints.
• Self-starter with minimal supervision.
• Previous experience with On-Screen takeoff.
• Understanding of Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Estimate and bid for projects including self-performed and subcontracted work.
• Prepare detailed quantity surveys and bid cards.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors for bids.
• Input take-off quantities and assist in CPM scheduling.
• Support pursuit teams with RFQs and RFP responses.
• Participate in preconstruction meetings and client interactions.
