Job summary

HL Contractors, Inc. is seeking a Project Estimator to join our team and deliver accurate construction cost estimates for bid proposals. The successful candidate will perform quantity takeoffs, gather pricing, and prepare competitive bids for commercial projects.

You will read plans and specs, collaborate with vendors and subcontractors, and support budgeting and turnover to the operations team. A BS in a related field and at least five years of experience are preferred; proficiency with

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a commercial construction Project Estimator.
• Experience with BLUEBEAM, On Screen Takeoff, QuickBid, Timberline preferred.
• Ability to read plans and perform quantity takeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity takeoffs from plans and specifications.
• Read and interpret plans and specs to determine estimates.
• Collect pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
• Assist in preparing accurate bid proposals.
• Assist clients with preliminary budgeting.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients.
• Calculate statistical data – quantity takeoff.
• Maintain files of working documents.
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor direction.
