Job summary

McGough Construction in Minnesota seeks an Estimator to accurately assess costs for fabricating and supplying miscellaneous metals for commercial construction projects. You will work with project managers, vendors, and subcontractors to provide precise estimates and bid proposals.

The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while using Excel, Procore, and Bluebeam.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction project experience, preferably with subcontractor or self-perform trades.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam).
• Experience estimating miscellaneous metals, structural steel, or other specialty construction trades.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed take-offs for miscellaneous metals scopes.
• Develop bid cards, set up bid packages, and manage subcontractor solicitations.
• Ensure estimates include labor, material, fabrication, finishes and delivery.
• Analyze and compare subcontractor and vendor quotes.
• Assist in contract negotiations and value engineering efforts.
