Job summary

McGough Construction in Roseville, Minnesota, seeks an Estimator II to prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial projects through design and preconstruction. You will perform quantity takeoffs, coordinate subcontractor pricing, evaluate risks, and mentor Estimator I team members.

The role emphasizes collaboration with owners, architects, engineers, and vendors, along with developing accurate estimates and supporting Lean continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 5–10 years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Experience with detailed quantity takeoffs and comprehensive construction estimates.
• Experience using electronic quantity takeoff software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff).

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs by interpreting drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
• Develop conceptual through detailed estimates for multiple project phases.
• Prepare estimates for self-performed work, subcontracted work, equipment, general conditions, and general requirements.
• Solicit, evaluate, and coordinate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Support value analysis and cost-saving opportunities throughout preconstruction.
