Job summary

ERM is seeking a Consulting Associate, Geologist based in Walnut Creek, California. The role involves supporting site investigation, remediation, and environmental compliance projects, with travel across a broad geographic area.

You will gain hands-on field experience and build skills for professional registration and long-term consulting growth. The position focuses on field work, data interpretation, site safety, and collaboration with project managers to deliver high-quality client service.

Qualifications

• BS in Geology or Hydrogeology (or related discipline) or equivalent experience.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Experience recording and preparing detailed technical data and reports is a plus.
• GIT certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate in field work including soil, groundwater, and surface water sampling; well installation; and monitoring.
• Assist with data interpretation and preparation of site work plans, spreadsheets, figures, and technical reports.
• Support Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments for property transfer and due diligence activities.
• Provide general environmental compliance support to clients and assist with multiple projects.
