Job summary

SCS Engineers in Long Beach, CA is seeking an Entry-Level Solid Waste Technical Associate to gain hands-on experience across landfill design, landfill gas systems, stormwater management, environmental compliance, permitting, construction oversight, and monitoring. You will split time between the field and the office, learning directly from Professional Engineers and industry experts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering by June 2027 or 1 year of relevant engineering experience.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist drilling activities including probe and well installation, borehole logging, development, construction, monitoring and sampling.
• Conduct QA observations and similar inspections for compliance with design plans and construction documents.
• Perform quality control reviews on reports, design plans, calculations and data before submission.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors and clients with the Project or Task Manager.
• Prepare portions of reports and support environmental site assessments, emissions and regulatory reporting.
• Prepare permit applications and regulatory submittals with supporting documentation.
• Prepare basic calculations to support design documents or other studies.
