Job summary

SCS Engineers in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Solid Waste practice. You will manage projects, develop junior staff, and work with clients on landfill and landfill gas system permitting and design.

The role includes engineering analysis, report writing, field work, CAD drafting, and business development activities such as proposals and industry events. 4+ years experience and EIT required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Environmental, Civil, Construction or related engineering field.
• 4+ years of related work experience; 3+ years in consulting or industry.
• E.I.T. required; P.E. is a plus.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record in good standing

Responsibilities

• Manage projects and work with clients and project teams.
• Develop junior staff and provide engineering support in solid waste practice including permitting and design for landfills and landfill gas systems.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, reports and permit applications; coordinate field data collection and QA/QC.
• Support business development, proposals, meetings with clients, and industry events.
