Job summary

SCS Engineers in Virginia Beach is seeking an entry-level Civil or Geotechnical Engineer to support landfill and waste management projects. You will gain hands-on experience in both field and office settings. You will work on geotechnical design, CQA, permitting, and construction documents, with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in civil or geotechnical engineering; master's preferred.
• 3 months internship or work in solid waste, civil, environmental, or geotechnical engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal technical communication.
• EIT certification preferred; valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and geotechnical support to landfill and waste projects.
• Assist with geotechnical aspects of landfill design and CQA.
• Support permitting and design through construction documents.
• Perform field and office engineering analyses.
• Coordinate with clients and contractors; travel as needed.
