Job summary

ERG is seeking entry-level engineers, scientists, chemists, and technicians to support the U.S. EPA Office of Research and Development in diverse research projects. You will design, develop, and optimize solutions while gaining hands-on experience across labs, shops, and field sites.

You’ll work with senior staff to prepare work plans, QAPPs, and safety plans, contributing to data collection, testing, and report writing. Travel for field projects nationwide is expected in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Hands-on laboratory, technical, or engineering project experience.
• Familiarity with air quality, emissions monitoring, or EPA-related methods preferred.
• Willingness to travel for field projects across the country.
• Background check and drug screening may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing, developing, and testing processes or experiments under senior guidance.
• Prepare technical reports, data analyses, and project documentation.
• Troubleshoot and maintain laboratory and field equipment.
• Execute technical projects under supervision and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Present findings and project progress to leadership or clients as appropriate.
• Assist in planning, scheduling, and material preparation for project execution.
