Job summary

Eastern Research Group, Inc. (ERG) invites applications for Junior Engineers, Scientists, and Technicians to support EPA Office of Research and Development projects.

You will assist in designing, developing, and testing processes, and work in laboratories, machine shops, and field settings across the country. You will collaborate with senior staff on work plans, QA/QAPs, safety plans, and project reports, while gaining hands-on experience in environmental engineering, air quality science, and

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in environmental/mechanical/chemical engineering or related field; relevant experience considered.
• Strong analytical, mechanical, and problem-solving skills for scientific work.
• 3+ years on-site research support for EPA OR OD or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist design, development, and testing of processes or experiments under supervision.
• Support technical reports, data analysis, and project documentation.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, calibrate, and repair laboratory and field equipment and instruments.
• Execute technical projects under guidance of senior staff.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement solutions.
• Follow safety guidelines and ensure compliance with policies.
• Contribute to ongoing projects by collecting data, performing tests, and compiling results.
• Prepare project plans, schedules, and materials for execution.
• Evaluate emerging technologies for potential integration into projects.
• Present findings and progress to leadership or clients as appropriate.
• Gain hands-on exposure to project management and design processes.
