Job summary

Terracon in Conroe, TX is seeking a field/lab technician to perform testing and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel. You will communicate with project managers and client representatives, transport samples, and prepare reports for daily submittals.

Under supervision, you will learn basic testing tasks, maintain equipment, and assist with scheduling. A high school diploma and valid driver’s license are required, with safety and quality

Responsibilities

• Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials.
• Communicate with project manager, client representatives, and others regarding requirements and results.
• Transport material samples to the laboratory for testing and analysis.
• Prepare and submit data and observations in written and digital reports for daily submittals to the Project Manager.
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles and work areas.
• Assist with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians to project sites.
• Adhere to strict safety standards.
• Under supervision, learn and assist with basic testing and observation duties.
• Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
• Communicate results to Project Manager for submittal and discuss data accuracy.
• Maintain assigned equipment and follow safety rules.
