Job summary

Rosendin Electric, Inc. is hiring an Estimator I in the Sterling, VA region. The role supports bid preparation for electrical construction projects, under general supervision. This entry-level position offers growth within a leading, employee-owned contractor with a strong project portfolio.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering and 0–2 years of estimating experience, ideally with Accubid. Travel is up to 10% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in estimating commercial construction projects, preferably electrical.
• Basic experience/exposure in Accubid estimating.
• Combination of education, training, and relevant experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
• Receives instructions from senior-level estimators to review scope and requirements.
• Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoffs and entering into the estimating system; review for accuracy.
• Work with suppliers and subcontractors to solicit quotes and review for completeness.
• Collaborate with Lead Estimator, Estimating Manager, and Chief Estimator on bid package scope and pricing.
• Contribute to timely completion of client-required documents.
• Use templates to draft scope letters with inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications.
• Maintain files of working documents for estimating assumptions and methodologies.
• Other duties as assigned within the business unit.
