Job summary
GCP PAPER USA, Inc. in Houston, TX seeks an Electrical Engineer I (Junior) to support electrical project engineering, system design, PLC troubleshooting, and power distribution improvements across paper converting machinery and facility systems.
You will collaborate with senior engineers and maintenance technicians to optimize uptime, resolve automation faults, and contribute to plant safety and reliability. Bilingual English/Spanish is a strong asset for cross-functional communication.
Qualifications
- 0–2 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or automation.
- Bachelor's degree required; FE/EIT preferred or pursuing.
- Familiarity with PLCs, power distribution, sensors, and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist with electrical capital projects, upgrades, and line installations.
- Troubleshoot and calibrate PLCs, VFDs, HMIs; support automation commissioning.
- Draft and update single-line diagrams and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Conduct root-cause analysis of electrical faults and implement corrective actions.
- Support power system assessments (480V 3-phase) and sensor calibration.
