Job summary

Actalent seeks an electrical engineer to design and support overhead and underground distribution systems (4kV–138kV) with guidance from a technical lead. You will develop detailed design work packages, perform calculations, and provide field and office support for distribution projects.

The role offers hands-on experience with utility design, permitting, and construction support, plus exposure to industry standards, GIS tools, and client processes. Greenville, SC-based onsite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering required.
• Fundamental understanding of power distribution systems (4kV–138kV).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and SolidWorks for design work.
• Experience or familiarity with GIS tools (ArcGIS/ArcMap).
• Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and fieldwork.

Responsibilities

• Develop design and construction work packages for overhead and underground distribution systems (4kV–138kV).
• Perform engineering calculations including pole loading, guying, conductor sag/tension, and voltage drop/flicker.
• Develop permitting documents for AHJs and support construction activities in the field and office.
• Use GIS and design tools to prepare work packages for OH, UG, URD, and street lighting projects.
• Coordinate with utilities and stakeholders to resolve conflicts and incorporate field requirements.
