Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT is seeking an Electrical Engineer (Entry Level) for 2nd shift to support the Columbia SSBN program. You will provide engineering oversight of construction, interpret designs, and coordinate with design and ship personnel to address issues on the Groton waterfront.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering, up to 5 years of experience, and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field.
0-5 years of post graduate engineering experience
Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance or higher
Ability to work 2nd shift

Responsibilities

Provide engineering oversight and assist electrical trade personnel to overcome emergent shipyard issues during construction.
Interpret design, drawing, and technical specification requirements.
Provide engineering evaluation and/or direction via dispositions of change notices and TIR UNSATs.
Provide surveillance of manufacturing, inspection, and testing of material.
Conduct engineering evaluations to support manufacturing and construction needs.
Facilitate the implementation of design and process improvements.
Coordinate engagement of design and engineering SMEs in the construction sequence.
