Job summary

KCI Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Distribution Engineer Designer I to design electrical distribution systems, perform field data collection, and support projects from office to field. The role involves simple design work, BOM creation, and collaboration with clients and construction crews.

Develop foundational experience in electrical distribution, with supervision and mentorship. Candidates should be prepared for site visits, safety training, and possible storm response assignments.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• FE/EIT preferred.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Produce electric distribution design drawings and BOM for simple projects.
• Perform field data collection using standard tools and processes.
• Perform cable pulling, voltage drop, transformer loading, and pole loading calculations.
• Familiarize with client construction standards and workflows.
• Generate permitting and project supporting documentation as needed.
• Understand hazards of distribution systems and mitigate hazards during office and field work.
• Attend safety meetings and adhere to training.
• Opportunity to participate in storm response as Driver and Assessor Learner.
• Work under close supervision for mentorship, guidance and training.
