Job summary

Eversource Energy in New Hampshire seeks an entry level Electric Distribution Designer to gain the training needed for advancement to level 2. The role covers field and design work for construction, operation, and maintenance of the electric distribution system.

The position requires an associate degree or two years related experience, familiarity with electrical codes, ability to interpret blueprints, and good communication and computer skills. Starting pay is $38.54 per hour.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering or 2 years of related experience.
• Knowledge of electrical distribution terminology and construction practices.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and circuit maps.
• Strong written and verbal communication and computer skills.
• Must pass EEI Tech Test.
• Knowledge of National Electric Code and National Electric Safety Code for Eversource service requirements.
• Valid driver's license.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Performs or assists with duties of Electric Distribution Designer 2 under supervision.
• Interfaces with departments to coordinate distribution projects.
• Prepares designs and cost estimates for residential services, relocations and upgrades.
• Participates in weekly planning and scheduling meetings.
• Storm restoration and emergency restoration assignments.
• Adheres to environmental policies, design standards, and safety manual.
• Interacts with customers to understand needs and ensure satisfaction.
• Prepares documentation for GIS map updates.
• Monitors project needs and responds to inquiries.
