Job summary

Eversource Energy is seeking an entry-level Electric Distribution Designer to gain experience in field and design work for the company’s distribution system. Under supervision, you will assist with design, cost estimates, and documentation while coordinating with internal departments.

You will participate in planning meetings, support storm restoration efforts, and adhere to safety and environmental policies. A valid driver’s license and an associate degree or equivalent experience are required.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of electrical and construction nomenclature equipment and procedures.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and company circuit maps.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills and EEI Tech Test requirement.

Responsibilities

• Performs or assists within ability with Electric Distribution Designer 2 duties under supervision.
• Interfaces with departments to design and coordinate distribution projects.
• Provides cost estimates and designs for residential services, relocations, and upgrades.
• Participates in weekly Planning and Scheduling meetings.
• Will have storm restoration assignments.
• Adheres to environmental policies, design standards, and safety manuals.
• Listens to customers, anticipates needs, and prioritizes satisfaction.
• Prepares GIS map documentation.
• Monitors project needs dates and responds to inquiries.
