Job summary

Houston Methodist is hiring an Echo Sonographer I to perform routine echocardiograms, including TTE with color and Doppler, TEE, and stress protocols for inpatients and outpatients. The position is full-time with four 10-hour shifts weekly from 6:30am to 5:00pm.

As an entry-level sonographer, you locate, evaluate and record anatomical and functional data, transmit exams to DICOM storage, and report significant findings to the attending physician. Availability to be on-call is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved education program for cardiac ultrasound.
• Completed clinical rotation or six months of cardiac echo experience.
• Basic life support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs transthoracic and transesophageal echo studies with standard imaging.
• Transmits exams to DICOM storage and communicates findings to physicians.
• Ensures patient safety and prepares exams for physician interpretation.
• Maintains sterile technique and supports the echo team during procedures.
• Documents procedures and enters charges when applicable.
• On-call availability as required.
