Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Records patient name and room number accurately on videotape.
• Obtains patient history and complaints before the test procedure.
• Establish rapport with patient and explain the test procedure thoroughly.
• Maintains echo logbook and orders accurately.

Competent in the performance of transthoracic echocardiogram

Effective communication with professionals and patients

Good time management

Clinical reasoning, screening and assessment skills

Education

High school graduate or equivalent

Successful completion of an educational program in diagnostic sonography or at least two-year previous cardiology experience
