Easterseals Southern California is hiring an Aide, Early Childhood to support classroom teaching and provide developmentally appropriate care to young children in California. This entry-level role offers a structured pathway toward becoming a fully permitted Early Childhood Teacher, with requirements to obtain the California Child Development Assistant Teacher Permit.

The position requires enrollment in ECE coursework, completion of ECE units, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain within required timeframe.
• Enrollment in Early Childhood Education coursework within 90 days of hire.
• Complete a minimum of six (6) ECE units within six months of hire.
• Continue coursework toward a Teacher Permit (24 ECE units) within an established plan.

Responsibilities

• Assist Early Childhood Educators in implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum.
• Support a safe, engaging learning environment for young children.
• Provide additional assistance to children with disabilities or developmental needs.
• Serve as caregiver and support developmental, social, and emotional growth.
• Assist with classroom organization, supervision, and sanitation activities.
• Collaborate with staff to support family engagement and communication.
