Job summary

Easterseals Southern California is seeking an Aide, Early Childhood (EC) to support the classroom teaching team in delivering developmentally appropriate activities for young children. This entry-point role is designed to guide you toward becoming a fully permitted Early Childhood Teacher in California.

You will pursue ECE coursework within 90 days of hire, complete six ECE units in six months, and maintain CPR/First Aid certification.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within required timeframe).
• Enrollment in ECE coursework within 90 days of hire.
• Complete a minimum of six (6) ECE units within six months of hire, meeting eligibility for California Child Development Assistant Teacher Permit.

Responsibilities

• Assists Early Childhood Educators in implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum.
• Supports the classroom teacher in maintaining a safe and engaging learning environment.
• Provides additional assistance to children with disabilities or developmental needs.
• Serves as a caregiver, supporting development, social and emotional growth.
• Assists with classroom organization, supervision, and sanitation activities.
• Participates in required professional development and mentorship.
• Collaborates with staff to support family engagement and communication.
