Holt Co. in San Antonio is seeking an entry-level diesel mechanic to perform basic inspections, diagnoses, and repairs on diesel-powered heavy equipment following established procedures. You will work as a team member to meet customer needs and departmental goals.

Entry-level position with guidance, training opportunities, and a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency in daily tasks. The role emphasizes learning and developing hands-on skills within the Machine Division (MAC).

Qualifications

• One or more years of diesel-powered heavy equipment repair experience preferred.
• Ability and knowledge to read/use schematics and diagrams experience is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Graduation from a diesel technology program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble and assemble machine components to manufacturer specifications using hand and pneumatic tools.
• Assist in rebuilding, repairing, and maintaining equipment.
• Provide good customer relations and communicate customer needs to shop management.
• Plan equipment and component repairs.
• Complete parts orders and identify parts for return.
• Maintain all equipment and work areas – keep them in good, clean, and orderly condition.
• Complete documents associated with repairs in a timely manner.
• Work safely at all times and adhere to safety policies.
• Work overtime as required by workload and customers’ needs.
• Update knowledge via educational opportunities; e.g., ProTech.
