Job summary

City of Glendale is seeking an entry-level Development Services Representative to provide public counter service for residential and commercial projects and to support the development review process. Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of college coursework in planning, building construction, or a related field.
  • One year of experience in planning, building construction, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of building construction, inspection, or related codes is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate intake, recording, and dissemination of documents and plans through the review process.
  • Assist developers and the public at the counter, by phone, or email with permit processes and development questions.
  • Analyze and enforce building, plumbing, electrical, mechanical codes and zoning ordinances for residential projects.
  • Coordinate documentation, inquiries, scheduling, inspections, and closeout in construction processes.
  • Compute plan submittal, review, and permitting fees.
  • Enter data into computer systems and generate reports.
  • Assist customers with permit applications and government forms.
