Job summary

Ericsson Inc. in Council Bluffs, IA seeks an Associate Data Center Technician to support installation, operation, and maintenance of data center equipment. This entry‑level role emphasizes staging, rack prep, cabling, labeling, inventory, and documentation alongside experienced teammates.

You will perform MACD, assist with rack positioning, patching, and cabling, and capture installation records. Physical work involves lifting up to 50 lbs and travel up to 100% as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, technical certification, vocational training, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Familiarity with copper and fiber cabling concepts is a plus.
• Ability to safely use basic hand tools and follow detailed work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation demonstrated.
• Collaborative and able to learn from experienced teammates.
• Willing to identify issues and seek guidance when needed.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality and continuous learning.
• Experience in data centers, telecom, field services or related training is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unpack, and stage equipment, consumables, and cabling.
• Perform basic inventory checks against packing lists and update tracking systems.
• Assist with rack positioning, leveling, and preparation under supervision.
• Install rack accessories such as cable managers and PDUs.
• Support rack-and-stack activities by lifting and securing equipment.
• Perform basic copper and fiber patching using port maps and instructions.
• Route and dress cabling per standards and requirements.
• Apply labels to racks, ports, and cabling per conventions.
• Capture equipment serials, rack locations, photos, and installation records.
• Execute MACD activities under direction of seniors.
• Conduct routine visual inspections and escalate issues promptly.
• Follow MOPs, safety requirements, and quality standards.
