Job summary

TEKsystems in Tampa, FL is seeking a contract Claims Payment Determination Specialist with CPC/CPC-A credentials. You will review claims data, validate information, and render payment determinations for emergency and transport claims without performing coding.

This is a fully remote role with standard M–F hours 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. CST. Prior experience with appeals and EOBs is preferred, but not required. Compensation is $25.00 per hour, with eligibility for benefits where applicable.

Qualifications

• Entry-level coding candidate with no/little coding experience preferred.
• CPC or CPC-A certification must be active and up to date.
• Experience coding/billing emergency services helpful but not required.
• Billers with CPC-A looking to transition into coding are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Make payment determinations for claims and decide the appropriate payer party.
• Validate data and verify information prior to rendering a decision.
• Work in the internal claims database and review emergency service-related claims.
• Do not perform coding; focus on data validation and adjudication.
