Job summary

Prince George’s County Government in Upper Marlboro, MD is seeking an LTGF Counselor 1G to provide counseling interventions for offenders in a correctional facility. You will conduct individual and group sessions, develop treatment plans, and maintain HIPAA-compliant records.

This entry-level professional role requires a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology, plus licensure and post-licensure experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a closely related field; Doctoral degree acceptable.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• One year of full-time, post-licensure clinical experience providing professional mental health counseling services.
• Must possess one of the listed licenses and have passed the relevant exams (NCE and Maryland Law).

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive screenings and assessments for treatment planning.
• Provide individual counseling and facilitate weekly group counseling sessions.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant electronic health records and client files.
• Develop and revise treatment plans every 30 days; support pre- and post-release planning.
• Submit weekly/monthly statistics and participate in supervision and meetings.
