Job summary

Prince George’s County Department of Corrections is seeking entry-level professional counselors to provide counseling interventions for offenders in a correctional facility. You will conduct individual and group sessions, assess mental health and substance use needs, and develop treatment plans while maintaining comprehensive documentation.

Licensed and licensed-eligible candidates with relevant certifications are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or closely related field.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• One (1) year of full-time, post-licensure clinical experience providing professional mental health counseling services.
• Must possess one of the listed licenses (LCPC/LGPC/LCADC/LGADC/LCP/LCMFT/LGMFT) and have passed NCE and MD Law Test.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to offenders in a correctional facility.
• Gather psycho-social histories and create treatment plans.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant records and client files.
• Ensure compliance with legal standards and submit required statistics.
