Job summary

Halliburton is seeking an Entry-Level Accountant for the Corporate Accounting group in Houston. The role supports month-end close, reporting, and various accounting processes for indirect functions and corporate accounting.

The position involves preparing reconciliations, supporting forecasts/budgets, and handling ad-hoc requests, including stock-based compensation and other programs. CPA progress and overtime flexibility are appreciated.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in accounting, business, or related field required.
• No previous accounting experience required.
• 2–5 years experience in accounting roles preferred.
• CPA or actively in progress to complete CPA.
• Willingness to work overtime during month-end close.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Pro.
• Knowledge of US GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations.
• Maintain compliance with SOX controls over corporate accounting.
• Collaborate with cross functional groups (BD, HR, HSE, IT, Real Estate, Tax, Treasury, Legal) to deliver accurate reporting.
• Assist month-end close processes and forecast/budget support for indirect functions and corporate accounting.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Gather information and review data to ensure accruals and month-end accuracy.
