Job summary

Mountaineer Casino in New Cumberland, WV is seeking a Cook I in the F&B Gatsby Restaurant & Buffet. This regular part-time, non-exempt position reports to the Executive Chef and supports daily kitchen operations.

You will prepare dishes per approved recipes, assist with pantry and salad duties, and help with meats, seafood, vegetables, stocks and sauces while maintaining high sanitation standards. Applicants must be 18+, able to pass a background check and obtain WV Racing License; prior kitchen

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 3 years cooking experience.
• Ability to work all shifts and maintain professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Identify and handle various foods with proper preparation and storage to ensure safe products for guests.
• Perform pantry and salad duties and properly prepare meats, poultry, seafood, vegetables, soups, stocks and sauces.
• Prepare items by broiling, sautéing, deep-frying, boiling, steaming, baking, and grilling as needed.
• Follow approved recipes and maintain dishes to Mountaineer standards.
• Communicate procedures to staff professionally and assist with daily production.
• Complete production schedules, openings/closing checklists, requisitions, and daily team briefings.
