Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma is hiring an Entry Level Cook (Cook 1) across multiple dining venues at Choctaw Casino & Resort Durant. This full-time role offers $15/hr with varying schedules, including weekends and holidays.

You will learn in a high-volume kitchen under a Sous Chef, contributing to quality, safety, and presentation. Ideal candidates have basic culinary interest or experience, English proficiency, and commitment to cleanliness and food safety.

Qualifications

• English language ability (speak, read, and write).
• Food Safety Certification or ability to obtain.
• 6 months of culinary experience or equivalent education/experience.

Responsabilités

• Prepare ingredients (wash, chop, slice, peel, etc.).
• Cook food using grill, fry, bake, steam, braise or boil methods.
• Ensure proper seasoning, garnishing and presentation.
• Follow standardized recipes and prep methods.
• Taste foods prior to service to ensure quality.
• Maintain proper food storage, labeling and rotation.
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
• Assist with kitchen setup, service and cleanup.
• Minimize waste through portioning and production planning.
• Keep a clean, organized and safe work environment.

Looking to start your culinary career or grow your kitchen experience? We're hiring Cook 1 team members across multiple venues throughout Choctaw Casino & Resort Durant. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a high-volume, professional kitchen environment while learning from experienced culinary leaders.

Requirements

• Ability to speak, read, and write English
• Food Safety Certification (or ability to obtain)
• 6 months of culinary experience OR equivalent culinary education/experience

What You'll Do

As a Cook 1, you'll work under the direction of the Sous Chef to support daily kitchen operations while maintaining high standards for food quality, presentation, and safety.
