Job summary

Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma is hiring a Cook 1 at multiple Choctaw venues in Durant. This entry-level role offers hands-on kitchen experience in a high-volume operation and exposure to seasoned culinary leadership.

You will work under a Sous Chef to support daily cooking tasks, follow recipes, and ensure quality, safety, and presentation while learning the craft in a fast-paced casino dining environment.

Qualifications

• Must speak, read and write English.
• Food Safety Certification (or ability to obtain).
• 6 months of culinary experience or equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients (wash, chop, slice, peel).
• Cook using grill, fry, bake, steam, braise, boil.
• Ensure proper seasoning, garnishing, and presentation.
• Follow standardized recipes and prep methods.
• Taste foods prior to service to ensure quality.
• Maintain proper food storage, labeling, rotation.
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
• Assist with kitchen setup, service, and cleanup.
• Minimize waste through portion control and production levels.
• Keep a clean, organized, and safe work area.
