Job summary

Choctaw Casino & Resort Durant is looking for an Entry Level Cook (Cook 1) to join multiple dining venues. This role offers hands-on kitchen experience under the Sous Chef, focusing on quality, presentation, and safety.

You will prep ingredients, cook using a variety of methods, follow recipes, and support setup, service, and cleanup across venues such as Grand Cafe, Salt & Stone, and 1832 Steakhouse.

Qualifications

• Basic culinary knowledge or a strong desire to learn.
• Ability to follow recipes and kitchen procedures.
• Team-oriented with a strong work ethic and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients (wash, chop, slice, peel).
• Cook using grill, fry, bake, steam, braise, boil.
• Season, garnish, and present dishes.
• Follow standardized recipes and methods.
• Taste food prior to service for quality.
• Maintain proper storage, labeling, rotation.
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards.
• Assist with kitchen setup, service, and cleanup.
• Minimize waste through portioning and production levels.

This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a high-volume, professional kitchen environment while learning from experienced culinary leaders.

Requirements

• Ability to speak, read, and write English
• Food Safety Certification (or ability to obtain)
• 6 months of culinary experience OR equivalent culinary education/experience

What You'll Do
