Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan in New Mexico seeks an IT/Industrial Automation Administrator to support control systems servers, workstations, and the network infrastructure across the site. You will manage backups, antivirus updates, patching, and security services while coordinating with Process Control personnel.

The role requires collaboration with Plant Engineering, implementing upgrades, and ensuring IT standards align with corporate policies, safety programs and site goals; a strong customer service

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or Engineering field.
• Associate degree with 4 years of relevant experience or a high school diploma with 6 years of experience.
• Understanding of LAN administration, server hardware and backups.
• Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs or DCS and process automation environments.

Responsibilities

• Administration and support of industrial automation and control systems servers, workstations and IT hardware.
• Administration and support of daily backups, antivirus updates and OS patching.
• Administration and support of industrial network infrastructure and security services.
• Coordinate with Process Control personnel for maintenance activities.
• Plan and implement procedures and upgrades to system software and hardware.
• Engage with Process Control and Plant Engineering staff to ensure IT standards alignment.
• Support safety and environmental programs and MIS policy compliance.
