Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan is seeking a Control Systems Analyst II to administer and support industrial automation IT infrastructure at the Bayard, NM site. The role includes AD, backups, patching, and security, plus collaboration with process control staff on system modifications and MIS policy compliance.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Information Systems, CS or Engineering (or related) with several years of experience in automation or IT support, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or Engineering with 3 years in engineering, systems administration or tech support.
• Associates degree plus 6 years in automation, IT LAN administration, software troubleshooting or related.
• HS diploma plus 8 years in automation, IT LAN administration, software troubleshooting or related.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support industrial automation and control systems IT infrastructure including AD, backups, antivirus, and patching.
• Perform internal audits to ensure alignment with MIS policy and industry standards.
• Assist in IT infrastructure design/validation for automation and control systems.
• Interface with process control staff for project and system modification support.
• Provide training and support to MIS staff regarding automation IT infrastructure.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities and assist in budgeting for hardware refresh cycles.
