Job summary

KCI Technologies, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Construction Inspector 1 to assist experienced inspectors on roadway and bridge projects. The role involves field inspections, detailed documentation, safety compliance, and interaction with clients and contractors.

Qualifications include a Highschool/GED and a valid driver’s license. Pre-employment drug screening and background checks are required. The position offers opportunities to grow within a 100% employee-owned engineering firm.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced inspectors on active roadway and bridge construction projects.
• Prepare detailed and timely reports documenting construction progress and inspection results.
• Record and report daily forms per project requirements.
• Review all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting.
• Maintain necessary records, measure field quantities, conduct field tests, and other tests as required to determine contractors’ compliance with contract specifications.
• Submit accurate timesheets, mileage, and expense reports on time each week.
• Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, staff, and supervisors.
• Resolve problems at the lowest level.
• Perform field construction inspection and documentation services on various projects (commercial, municipal, institutional, heavy highway, bridge).
• Review job site safety daily and take action to document and resolve issues.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and client requirements.
