Qualifications

• Requires a High School diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of related experience in investigations, inspections, or related field, and training in building trades, code enforcement, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Respond to complaints of County code violations and investigate possible infractions, including codes related to building, grading, zoning, erosion control, storm water, business licenses, liquor licenses, signs, or other health and safety issues.
• Determine compliance or non-compliance with codes; meet with property owners to discuss violations; issue notices and citations; collect, evaluate, and preserve evidence; interview witnesses and document violations; prepare evidence for court cases; testify in court as needed.
