Industrial Access is a multi-craft services contractor specializing in maintaining hard-to-reach structures such as chimneys, stacks, ductwork, vessels, and cooling towers at height, using rope access and other high-elevation techniques.

About The Role

Industrial Access is seeking a motivated entry-level civil/structural engineer to join our team. This developmental role involves evaluating unique and challenging structures in the industrial sector, including smokestacks, chimneys, and tall access systems. You will work closely with experienced engineers to analyze field data, perform structural evaluations, and assist in developing reports and repair strategies. The position offers practical exposure to structural engineering in a high-impact environment, with on-site work in Cumming, GA, Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm.

What You’ll Do
  • Review and analyze photographic data from field inspections of industrial structures.
  • Assist with structural analysis and design tasks under licensed engineers' supervision.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports documenting findings, risks, and recommendations.
  • Support the creation and revision of technical drawings and markups for structural modifications.
  • Apply standards (e.g., IBC, AISC, ASCE) to evaluate safety and code compliance.
  • Organize and maintain documentation, photos, and report files.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure accuracy and clarity of deliverables.
Required Skills And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or within 2 years of graduation).
  • Basic knowledge of structural engineering concepts.
  • Strong technical writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze complex data sets and photographic reviews.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred (Not Required)
  • Interest in pursuing a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Familiarity with structural analysis or drafting software (AutoCAD, Revit, RISA, etc.).
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (IBC, AISC, ASCE).
  • Internship, academic, or co-op experience in structural engineering or industrial settings.

This is a full-time salaried position with a starting salary range of $65,000 - $70,000 annually. Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, 401K with matching, PTO, holiday pay, and more. Enjoy daily breakfast and lunch prepared by our in-house chef.
