As a Structural Engineer within the Engineering division, you will be placed within a US client organization to perform the following:
Design and Drafting
- Prepare detailed calculations, design drawings, and specifications for industrial, residential, and commercial projects.
- Perform structural analysis and design of building structures, including Steel, Concrete, Wood, and Masonry, along with various connections, using governing codes, standards, engineering skills, and experience.
- Design civil scope and foundations based on geotechnical reports.
- Conduct simple evaluations by hand and analyze complex structures using software such as RISA, ETABS, or ENERCALC.
- Develop project scope and cost estimates that are comprehensive yet cost-competitive.
Review and Correction
- Develop construction scope packages and review shop drawings.
- Review shop drawings and complete rebar schedules.
- Review sketches, drawings, specifications, and other data to ensure conformity to design concepts.
Construction Documentation
- Provide detailed drawings of structural components and connections.
- Ensure final drawings meet quality standards.
- Perform QA/QC checks and draft reviews.
- Participate in building code research and ensure code compliance.
Coordination and Documentation
- Collaborate with project managers and team members to meet deadlines and budgets, controlling costs and scope boundaries.
- Serve as project manager for smaller projects or work within multidisciplinary teams.
- Maintain organized revisions of project drawings and related files.
Key Responsibilities
- Calculate loads and select structural members based on forces and service demands.
- Design structural solutions for various projects, focusing on industrial projects.
- Design foundations, tunnels, slab reinforcement, and steel structures.
- Develop structural connections, verify field conditions, and interpret design codes.
- Prepare reports, designs, drawings, and review updated submittals.
- Interact with clients effectively.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Knowledge of codes such as IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC, and experience with RISA, ETABS, ENERCALC, STAAD.Pro, Revit, and AutoCAD.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience (non-freelance).
