Job summary

Bissette Construction Corporation in Chesapeake, VA is seeking an entry-level Assistant Civil Estimator to join our team. You will learn to turn plans into takeoffs, 3D site models, budgets, and competitive bids while working with experienced estimators, PMs, field teams, clients, and suppliers.

You'll gain hands-on experience in understanding how projects are designed, priced, planned, and built, with opportunities to grow within a family-run culture focused on teamwork and really delivering

Qualifications

Bachelor's or higher in civil engineering or construction-related field preferred but not required.
Experience with AutoCAD or estimating software is a plus.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

Review civil construction plans and project documents.
Convert plans into 3D site models.
Perform quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, concrete, and sitework.
Assist with project cost estimates and bid proposals.
Research project requirements, materials, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Evaluate budgets, schedules, and constructability.
Communicate with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Collaborate with estimators, project managers, and field personnel to deliver projects.
